About the Role
Be Klarity's first legal hire and own the entire legal function — healthcare compliance, AI regulation, provider contracts, corporate governance, and privacy. You'll build the legal infrastructure for a company operating at the intersection of AI and healthcare across all 50 states.
What You'll Own
- Healthcare regulatory compliance — HIPAA, state telehealth regulations, licensing requirements across all 50 states
- AI and data privacy — navigate emerging AI regulations and ensure responsible use of AI in healthcare delivery
- Commercial contracts — provider agreements, partnership deals, payer contracts, and vendor relationships
- Corporate governance — board matters, equity administration, fundraising support
- Risk management — identify and mitigate legal risks as the platform scales rapidly
- Build the legal function — establish processes, select outside counsel, and hire as the team grows
Who You Are
- 8+ years of legal experience with significant time in healthcare, healthtech, or digital health
- Deep knowledge of healthcare regulatory landscape — HIPAA, state licensure, telehealth compliance
- Experience with AI/technology legal issues — data privacy, algorithmic accountability, emerging regulation
- Comfortable as a solo legal leader in a fast-moving startup — you can prioritize, move fast, and manage ambiguity
- JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $270K – $325K
